Our cupellation Lead is 99% pure lead, perfect for identifying the purity of gold, silver, and various other precious metals. With a quantity of 50 to 500, this product is ideal for accurate and efficient precious metal analysis.

Assay and analyze precious metal(s) with confidence using our high purity lead casted into precision .600 diameter spheres. Each sphere weights in at about 31 grams per sphere.

Using the cupellation process the cupel porosity allows metal oxides to absorb base into each cupel with precision.  Since precious metals do not oxidize, they are not absorbed and are left on top of the cupel for weighing or further analysis.

Use: 

Cupellation produces extremely accurate assay results because it fully separates gold and silver from impurities including black sands and mineral ore. However, it takes much longer than other assay methods. For these reasons, it’s best reserved for larger lots of precious metals.
